Arts Umbrella
Arts Umbrella is a non-profit centre for arts education for young people. Since 1979 they have provided the highest quality visual and performing arts education to children and youth ages two to 19, regardless of their economic situation. Arts Umbrella has grown from the dream of a few young, artistic parents to a highly respected model for children’s arts organizations worldwide.
BC Children’s Hospital
BC Children’s Hospital provides expert care for the province’s most seriously ill or injured children, including newborns and adolescents. Based in Vancouver, BC Children’s and Sunny Hill reach across the province with vital health services that may not be available anywhere else in B.C. They also provide specialized training in pediatric health care and work with renowned researchers to achieve better health for children and youth.
Greater Vancouver Food Bank
GVFBS has become one of the most important non-government funded food assistance providers in Canada. The GVFBS helps feed more than 9,000 people each week in 15 depots located in Burnaby, New Westminster, Vancouver and the North Shore. Additionally, the GVFBS aids over 100 agencies within these areas, providing help to another 16,000 individuals weekly. The GVFBS relies on the generosity of the public to continue operating.
Indo Canadian Friendship Society
Indo-Canadian Friendship Society of British Columbia: The Indo-Canadian Friendship Society of British Columbia is a registered charitable society and an NGO founded in 1974 and based in New Westminster BC Canada. For the past five years the Society has been involved in village life improvement projects in Punjab India. The projects encompass sanitation, public health, education facility upgrades and a significant exercise in participatory democracy.
