Brook + Associates is proud to have been involved in securing Development Permit approval for Grosvenor Americas' innovative mixed-use development at Cambie Street and West 8th Avenue in Vancouver. Brook acted as Prime Consultant, responsible for neighbourhood consultation, and negotiations with the City of Vancouver. Joining Brook on the development team were Nigel Baldwin Architects, and Durante Kreuk Landscape Architects.
The RISE won a prestigious 2009 Urban Land Institute (ULI) Award for Excellence. The project was one of 10 outstanding developments from the Americas, selected from among over 140 applicants.
The RISE covers a 2.3-acre city block in the heart of Vancouver's rapidly developing Cambie Street corridor, in proximity to the new Canada Line rapid transit station. Brook assisted Grosvenor Americas in the creation of Vancouver's third largest retail node, containing 212,000 square feet of retail space and 92 live-work rental homes, enhanced by a 20,000 square foot green roof and community garden.
