Sustainability

As sustainability moves to the forefront of the entitlement process, municipal policy and Provincial regulations, we are continually evolving our essential services to assist our clients to integrate components of sustainability into their projects.

We have seen the concept of “sustainability” grow and change over the past decade and believe planning and development projects must address social, environmental and economic considerations.  This triple bottom line approach informs our work and the advice we provide to clients.

We collaborate with our clients and leading professionals to provide comprehensive strategies for development projects to meet sustainability goals.  We advise clients in the specific areas of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Green Building and Neighbourhood Design (LEED ND), Smart Growth, and other technical and environmental innovations, as they apply to our client projects.

In our current and past projects we have tackled issues related to brown and grey-field redevelopment, urban infill, district energy feasibility, climate change strategies, alternative development standards, alternative transportation strategies, environmental restoration and habitat enhancement, affordable housing and economic revitalization.

We are also committed to environmental responsibility in our office.  We are currently implementing strategies to help us become a more sustainable company:
